A neat apartment in Prague 6
This brand-new, bijou apartment has been completed only recently. It is situated in the Dejvice borough of Prague 6, which is also known as Prague’s Kensington and Chelsea due to its many embassies, elegant architecture and peaceful garden-like environment. The apartment looks out on the leafy Eliasova Street. It lies in the heart of a friendly, cosmopolitan neighbourhood full of convivial cafes, good restaurants, organic delis and all sorts of shops and other amenities, including a farmers’ market on Saturdays. The extensive green areas of the Stromovka and Letna parks are just round the corner, as are several museums and the much acclaimed Dejvicke and Semafor theatres; and also the Sparta soccer stadium, if that’s your thing. The historic Prague Castle and the neighbouring Petrin park are a 15-minute stroll in one direction; in the opposite direction, just down the hill, are the stunning sights of the Lesser Town, the Charles Bridge and the Old Town.
The apartment itself is situated on the first floor of a pristinely preserved art deco building and contains many original features that have been lovingly restored. Where new fixture or fittings were needed, they have been fashioned to the highest standards as replicas of the originals.
This light and airy apartment comprises a spacious hallway with a substantial built-in wardrobe and an extra storage room with ample space for bikes and other sports equipment, etc. Off the hallway, there is a brand-new bathroom and a separate toilet, both clad in Italian stone. The hallway flows into a generous and well-planned lived-in kitchen with new kitchen units, a dining table for 6, two large shelving systems and a sitting area. Original double doors lead into the bedroom with a king-size bed (with more storage space inside) and a slimline mirrored wardrobe.
Every piece of gas, water and electricity infrastructure in the apartment has been replaced during the 2019/20202 reconstruction. A top range, high-capacity boiler situated in a separate utility room now provides heating and hot water. The utility room also accommodates a separate sink, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, and all sorts of cleaning appliances.
All means of public transport – the metro, tram, bus and regional train services – are within a 5-minute walk. The Prague Vaclav Havel international airport is 20 minutes away by car; alternatively, it’s 35 minutes by public transport. Parking is restricted to local residents. This can be arranged through the local authority for a very reasonably fee.
Last but not least, the apartment offers all the necessary kitchen implements (crockery, cutlery, etc.) plus new, washed and pressed sets of towels, bedding and bedlinen.
